Mudflaps...

For anyone who has tried them with the new Focus, which do you prefer, the molded ones or the other ones?

I have molded on mine. They are much more cleaner looking than the others but they come at a bigger price

Yeah, they definitely look better...

Great pic and great colour.
Were they easy to install?

Zillon 05-02-2012 11:46 AM

Not too bad, but they do require a drill. I also removed my front wheels to make the install easier and give more clearance for drilling.

It's not hard, but if you're uncomfortable with power tools, it shouldn't be hard to find someone to lend a hand. Just make sure all alcohol used for bribery is consumed after the install. [thumb]

I've never really used power tools [shhh] lol but I do want to start doing my own work/mods on my new car so I gotta learn soon lol.
Good tip.

I went with the Ford Molded mud flaps. As soon as the car arrives I'll get them on.

The 18's on the Ti we test drove looked like they tossed quite a bit of debris up the side of the car so I figured they were mandatory.

Molded on mine, the Ford ones. They are quite nice and fit well. They just plain old look good on the car.

I also have the molded, and after the dealer quoted me $116 for install I decided that I would go ahead and install them myself. Like Zillon said, easy to install and power drill required.
In hindsight, I would have taken the rear wheels off too. It takes about a minute to jack and remove a wheel, and I easily wasted that trying to balance the torx head screw on my socket while trying to line it up for install.
Total time, including taking the front wheels off, maybe 45 minutes.
