Is it me, or does it almost look like an over sized focus? Is that the same 2.0L that's in the focus? You'd think they would have a 6 cyl option

Thanks for the link. I've been wondering about pricing and options. Prices are what i expected, too high for my practices. I'll stick with my Focus and buy a Bronco II with some mud tires on it for bad weather and fun.

No more sixes in the Escape. The 2.0 is the Ecoboost version. Probably the same engine with Focus ST is getting but detuned a bit

the escape always came with a 4cyl standard with an option for a v6, but with the new ecoboost engines making just as much power as the old V6 there really isn't a need for it in the new escape.

The new Escape is based on the European Kuga, which shares its platform with the Focus. The 2.0L ecoboost is the same engine that is currently in the Explorer and Edge, and will also be introduced in the 2013 Ford Fusion, 2013 Ford Taurus, and the 2013 Ford Focus ST. The base engine is a carry-over 2.5L i4 port injected engine, and the 1.6L ecoboost i4 has been installed in the european focus for at least 1-2 years. The 2.0L GTDI (Gasoline Turbocharged Direct Injection) EcoBoost engine will make close to the same power as the old 3.0L v6 did in the Escape, meaning that performance isn't likely to suffer too gravely from this decision, and fuel economy should be better when off of boost/ cruising due to direct injection and having fewer cylinders to feed.

It is either a misprint or did anyone notice this part, "when the vehicle goes on sale in spring 2013"!!! WHAT!!! It was supposed to be on sale this spring but then I heard summer, now looks like it will be a late 2013. If that is not a misprint, wonder what is wrong with it?

Where did you hear late 2012? Perhaps ford has too many 2012 Escapes left on the lot?
