How to get a louder exhaust???
 

I have a 06 Ford Focus ZX4. I like adding new mods every now and then. I haven't gotten anything for the engine or exhaust yet. I wanted to make my exhaust system louder. I've looked online but can't find anything for my car.

Any ideas or any specific systems you know about?

Another thing will just a new muffler make my car louder? I don't want it to be super loud but I want some kind of vroom in it.

I know about the FSWerks exhaust and from what i have heard is sounds amazing and also i have seen some guys suggest the Borla system. As far as making the stock system sounds louder there are many ways of doing it. I believe the most simple and the cheapest route is to cut out the mufflers and resonators (if you have any) and replace them with pipe connectors that can be bought at autozone. PLEASE DEAR GOD DO NOT PUT ON A FART CAN!

Yeah don't use a fart can lol. Many ways you can go about it. I replaced my stock muffler with a flowmaster and cut off the lunch box. Most spend hundreds on exhaust kits but you don't have to. Mine sounds pretty good imo. :)

If you just want to do it for sound I would just cut out the resonator and throw on a new muffler. Took mine to a shop a couple years ago for that. $200 and 20 minutes later, bam boom sounds nice.

you could talk to a muffler shop or something as well to see about having somethint made from the cat back in larger tubing. may be cheaper than some of the buy and install ones.

loud exhaust = fail. the more stock you look and sound the better.
buy a header, and a new muffler, and call it a day.

"SOUNDS NICE" ???... WAIT, I'M THE ONE ONE JUST CUT OFF THE REAR MUFFLER AND LEFT IT LIKE THAT.[shameful]

Header and an MBRP catback, lovingly referred to by me as my "Cessna" exhaust... sounds like a plane coming out of the sky from a distance; makes sneaking around impossible!
