Detailed instructions on removing 2012 door panels for speaker install

Found this on another forum. Didn't get much love over there. I'll just leave it here.

Quote:

Just put two pairs of speakers in a new 2012 Focus Hatch with the sony premium system.

Car has 6.5" componets front and rear. They use their own brackets so until someone makes a speaker bracket for them the only solution i found was to cut the basket out and cut the surround out to use the bracket with a new speaker. Also the factory speaker plug plugs into the bracket itself so you can solder wire to the tabs and then to the new speaker so you can use the factory speaker plug

Do not have any pics but it is fairly easy to pull the door panels.

Front doors:
1. Use pick to remove screw cap cover behind door handle.
2. Unscrew (1) T-20 torx behind screw cap just removed.
3. Use PRT to unclip side trim around window switch panel.
4. Unplug window switch panel and remove.
5. Unscrew (2) T-20 torx from behind the panel just removed.
6. Unscrew (1) T-20 torx located on the side of the door panel.
7. Use PRT to unclip red reflector lens.
8. Unscrew (1) T-20 torx from behind the panel just removed.
9. Use PRT to unclip door panel, unplug and remove.
10. Unscrew (3) T-27 torx securing the speaker, unplug and
remove.

Rear Doors:
1. Use pick to remove screw cap cover behind door handle.
2. Unscrew (1) T-20 torx behind screw cap just removed.
3. Use PRT to unclip window switch panel, unplug and remove.
4. Unscrew (2) T-2 0 tor x behi nd th e panel just removed.
5. Use PRT to unclip the door panel, unplug and remove.
6. Unscrew (3) 7mm bolts securing the speaker, unplug and
remove.

Hope this helps out anyone looking to replace the speakers in their new 2012

I've been thinking about investigating my right front passenger door panel vibration. Just to be clear, what does PRT stand for? Thanks!
