Autocross and track suspension question

Hi All,

It's time for shocks and struts on my 2003 SVTF. I bought it for autocross and track work. What would you guys suggest as a suspension upgrade for track/autocross while I have the struts and shocks off?

Eibach Sport? Eibach Pro? Ford Dynamic dampers?

Any help would be MUCH appreciated.

What's your budget?

I'd like to stop at about $500 with springs, but would like to remain in H-Stock until i can learn to not hurt myself!

Koni yellows will run you about that w/o springs.
You say you got the car mainly for for autocross and track use? I'd skip the strut and spring combo and go with some coilovers if it is a dedicated race car. My SVT is a dedicated race car, so i'm looking to go with some custom KW's. but those will cost you around 3.5k...

but if you do end up going with the yellows and stock springs, this is a superb set up for H-stock. you can even have them revalved from Koni.

honestly, take the SVT out and flog it around until you get a handle of the car in stock form, then you can tweak it from there. The stock suspension isn't the worst, and isn't terrible for a stock class.

H Stock only allows shocks. Koni are the best off the shelf but a little bit above that price range

Shocks

Thanks for the advice everyone. I think I'll spash the extra cash and go with Koni yellows and stock SVT springs.

Just one more questiion...the car has 80,000 miles on it. Is it worthwhile buying new springs while I have the struts out?

Many thanks again!

John

springs should still be good at 80k for what you intend to do with them especially down south. Its a whole new world in the rust belt. You might want to look into the bushings and replace worn ones, they have a surprisingly big effect on your suspension.
