engine oil pan change

My 02 ZETEC engine oil pan was rusted very bad, I am afraid it will leak engine oil very soon. Is it very easy to remove the pan and change a new one.
Actually I changed the transmission fluid pan last year for for the same problem.

If exhaust bolts are as rusty as the oil pan then it might be a bit of an issue. You need to remove some of the exhaust to get the pan off. Rusted exhaust bolts and be quite a problem.

No need to remove the exhaust, I've done two zetec pans with them on. You need to be quite creative but they'll come out. They are steel bolts into aluminium, mine came out easily. You DO want to make sure you torque them all the same so it doesnt leak. There are no gaskets, use RTV sealant on the pan prior to installation.

Hardest part is removing the pan, I used a plastic scraper that I wedged between the block and the pan. Its hard at first but it will come out.

Good luck!

I'm looking to replace my pan. Any tips to help it go smoothly? I don't want to have to drop the exhaust. About how long did it take? My SVT is my daily driver so I can't have anything go wrong in fixing it as I need a car to drive.

Today I clawled under the car to have a regular inspection, the engine oil pan was rusted so bad. I used a screw driver to scratch the surface to remove the rust, suddenly it started to leak in one spot. I have no choice but to change the oil pan.

Actually it is not very hard, I only removed engine drive belt plastic cover and the oil pan was easily taken out.

like deadend9009 said, the hardest part is to lose the pan from the engine.
