Car alarm goes off anytime
Within the last couple days my 2012 Ford Focus alarm goes off unexpectedly. Is there something I can do about this? I noticed that one of the batteries in one of my keys has died and I wonder if that has anything to do with it? Just a thought.
Anyone else ever have this issue? help! [pray] |
Why is the alarm going off a problem? Coming on would seem much worse, unless your car is being stolen. [:)]
I don't know on these FFs, but on another car with similar problems it was an indication that the main battery was near-death. But on a 2012? Might have it checked anyway. Also, butt-pressing the alarm button on a remote is another common cause. Good luck with the problem! |
Surly this is not your problem!
2004 Focus Alarm would go off at odd times like in the middle of the night... Finally found rotten battery connection But yours is a 2012 |
The alarm turns on. Sorry for the way it was quoted. My husband disconnected the battery to reset everything as he has had to with his Ford Excursion. Helped so far, fingers are crossed. thanks for you imput.

It's all good. We all have our grammatical moments. I have issues with singular and plural possessives, lol. As for the alarm "going off", perhaps someone has the insane idea of taking your Focus on a joyride [driving]. If that's the case, the message center will display an "i" in amber color and alarm message "ALARM TRIGGERED CHECK VEHICLE". If however, it's a malfunction the "i" will appear with alarm message "ALARM MALFUNCTION SERVICE REG'D'. In the event its the second suggestion, your local Ford dealership will be able to help you locate the issue. Let me know if this helps! Noemi |
2012 Focus Alarm keeps going off
I have the same issue and I have taken it into the dealership 3 times for it, the third time being today. I also have the issue with the hood alarm going off randomly as well.
What I was told today that since they cannot duplicate the problem (I asked them if they knew the definition of random) that they have to talk to the Ford Engineers to see if anyone else has had this problem and, if so, what would be the resolution. I can now assume that Ford mechanics possess no problem solving skills unless the Ford Engineers tell them what their skills are. I am very disappointed in the answer I got today. Hopefully your issue was fixed and if so, do you know what they did to fix it? |

I'd like to escalate this to your Customer Service Manager for review; please PM me your VIN, mileage, phone #, and servicing dealer. Are you interested in obtaining a second opinion from a different dealer? Thank you, Thomas |
I had a similar problem with a different make of vehicle, Isuzu, I was talking with the service manager at the dealership and he told me that it was not uncommon for people to shut the hood to hard and bend the sensor down and out of alignment. His suggestion was to bend the bracket for the sensor under the hood back up a little. Didn't a any problems after that. Not sure this will help but you never know.
Good Luck. |
