Dash switch 00 to 05
 

This may sound silly, but I kind of like the 05 dash better than the 00 dash. If I found an 05 dash in a wrecking yard could I swap it into my 2000 zx3?

You could but it won't line up with the doors. I think someone did it but I'm not sure. Heck it might not even fit with the 01 door panels?

The '05 dash is higher at the doors than the '00, and the mirror caps are shorter on the '05. I have read, either here or on FJ, that the reverse ('05 to '00-'04) has been done, and that it is basically a bolt in proposition. I would hope that the passenger side airbags are compatible, I know that the driver side (plug) is NOT. I have SVT seats, door cards and mirror caps in my '05 ST, and plan to install an SVT dash when I can find one reasonably close to me. Good luck.

Ok cool thanks for the info. Currently I'm not ready to do the swap, in the future maybe. I just seem to like that the dash is less busy and more straight lines. lol kind of a silly thing to want to change, but hey keeps me busy and its what makes my car my car. :)

Yeah you can do it but get 05+ door panels as well so it matches.
