Class help
I'll be running my first autox of the season Saturday!!! I guess I should figure out which class I'll be running in.
I couldn't find anything on cat deletes in the 2011 rulebook, so I figured I'd wimp out and ask you guys. Maybe I'm just blind? Here are the mods (that I know of): Cat delete Slotted rotors (OEM aren't slotted are they?) Upgraded motormounts Wider intake snorkel K&N filter Later, I'll be getting an ECU tune. So, where am I now and will the tune change anything? I figure the cat delete will bump me up so high that none of the other stuff matters. Oh, and the tires are not R-comps. Thanks! |
I assume an '03 EAP is an SVT focus... Cat delete will put you into DSP (D Street Prepared). Your other mods listed are OK with the street prepared classes.
|
yeah you would be in the DSP or a SP...... with a tune you'll be bumped up some more.....
|
A tune won't move the car any "higher". Tunes are SP legal.
Slightly off topic... Where are you racing? Furthermore, I am a proponent of seeking out experienced people to help me learn things I am new to...Chicago Region Learning Curve |
Right, it's an SVT. Sorry about that.
Thanks for the help. So "emission control devices may be modified or removed" covers the cat? I searched the rulebook for catalytic and came up empty on references to removal. Pkolator - This will be my sixth season. I'll be running at Rantoul with CCSCC. The surface is poor, but it's a good group of people and a nice drive through the sticks if you get off the interstate. (It's a shame what passes for a nice drive in northeastern IL!) |
^^ Yeah, that plus the 15.10 I. which states that exhaust manifolds and mufflers are free.
|
I'm aiming to do at least one event down there this season.
Have fun and maybe I'll see you down there later this season or a at Chicago region, Tri-state or Indiana northwest region event. |
