Joining the Air Force
I just took my ASVAB and passed, and head off to MEPS tomorrow. Is there anything i should know before i sign my life to them?
I head to basic 01 August 2011[strongman] |
naw, your recruiter will spill most of what you will want or need to know to you. the most important part to remember is the 8 year commitment(2 years inactive)..meps was nerve racking for me, wasnt hard..just kinna spooky..you may find out things about yourself that you didnt know..such as i found out that im color blind from their tests..i get my reds/oranges and blues/greens mixed up..that drastically changed my MOS options..that pissed me off..anyway, just enjoy it..it will change your life.

thanks! I hope they dont spot my double vision lol the recruiter put it down as "slightly far-sighted" He said Yes means "Your Enlistment Stops" and No mean "Newfound Oppurtunity."

I had the same issue. During my trip to the MEPS I also discovered I was colorblind. My ASVAB scores qualified me for whatever I wanted. The colorblindness knocked my options down to laundry man, radio operator, or eye doctor (ironic, right?). The recruiters kept me around for another five hours trying to convince me to take one of those three options. Since I had gotten a ride there from the recruiter that morning, I couldn't leave until he agreed to take me home. They were pushing real hard to get me to take one of those three options but none of them held any interest for me. They tried to convince me that the eye doctor was the perfect job for me. They'd try getting me in one on one. They tried good recruiter/bad recruiter. By the end, it would have been humorous if I hadn't been ready to leave and they were holding me hostage.

hahaha! wow! yeah i failed my depth perception test which knocked me out of the job i wanted, but i still got to choose the 5 jobs that sound good for me! so i take it you didnt join? lol

|
chow runner? and i have a pretty good last name. no one can really do anything with it lol
|
chow runner is the person who has to go infront of all the MTI's (military training instructers) and ask permisson if their "flight" can eat.
