escort zx2 cams in a focus?

Anyone Know what the difference between a Escort ZX2 cams and a Focus cams are? Could they be a performance alternative?

The intake cam fits and like a stage 1. Exhaust won't fit due to the VCT.

ZX2 Cam

Do it if you can pick up an intake cam from a junk yard at a decent price!

Has anyone done this mod?

What years of the ZX2, any? I see ZX2's all the time at the local junk yard. This could be a cheap alternative to FR cams.

^^Well on the intake side at least. Wouldn't that be funny if the ZX2 intake cam had the same part number has there Stg. 1's intake cam lol

Do some research. There are a few old threads about this. I think I read it on both, but found more info on FJ if I remember correctly.

And I have one sitting in my garage for the day that I finally open the valve cover.

stock zx2 intake cam
.367" lift and 214 deg duration @ .050"

vigdrtim 07-07-2010 02:04 AM

FR STG1 cam
.374 lift intake
210 at .050 duration

at .050" the stock lift is .346", so its a decent jump, almost a stage 1 cam!
