BUtton Willow, CA Roll over

My mom just sent me this.. Happened this weekend.

The full story is below:

"I was coming out of riverside flat in 4th like I always do and after reviewing the in-car I just BARELY clipped that curbing in the left kink and it spun me. I went off the track backwards and the second my rear passenger wheel went off the spokes ripped out of the barrel and it catapulted me. I came to a rest right side up after 3 rolls in a puddle; I'm happy I landed on my wheels and not upside down in the water seeing as it took 5 minutes for anyone to get to my car. Big ups to Hard Dog with their new X braced roll bar, Schroth 5 point harnesses, Sparco Sprint 5's, NRG quick release and I/O Port tow strap, all of which performed absolutely flawlessly throughout the entire endeavor."

the driver is a close friend of mine, i was there the same day, all his safety equipment held up and he came out for the most part unscathed. He went to the doctor for x rays and MIR and checked out, all he has is a sore neck.

The windshield frame held up better than I expected. Good thing he came out ok, and has a sweet video to watch.

I don't like the way the hardtop was so easily ripped off. A "real" Spec Miata has a full cage and the hardtop has to be permanently affixed with brackets. And yes, the Miata windshield is designed as a structural element for just the purpose shown in the video.

Wow!!

Looks like he needs to definatly invest in a HANS device, his neck did ALOT of moving! Glad he made it out ok!
