HOW TO: Interior swap with power window and locks (over 100 pics)
 

Ok for those that want it i hope this helps.. just so you know this is with after market wiring.. and only the master window switch in a custom place.

In this how to i replaced a zx3 no power option with svt eap power everything.
seat heaters with factory switches.
factory power window with single switch
factory door locks hooked to aftermarket alarm

Here we go.. first like always.. turn on some music..

disconnect battery..

then pull of this panel behind the handle.. it has a cover and one screw then it just pulls off.

take out the cover over the door handle grip and the 2 screws behind it

then pull off this cover pull back then out..

then pull the panel off

then your speaker .. 4 bolts and a plug..

then the door latch handle. pull the front of the handle out first

then pull off the foam blanket piece.

now the 3 bolts to the latch

there is 2 on this handle inside the door one you can see plainly and the other you can see through this hole

then wiggle the latch assy out

disconnect the window track assy.

now we are going to change out the locks on the old door handle to our new handle assy

while trying to get out the piece you just unscrewed you could probably twist this out

now wiggle this out (silver bar)

and switch this piece (handle/lock assy) (whole assy) and reverse your steps..

reinstall your handle and latch assy reversing the steps of removal
now do the same for the other side

now we are gonna work on the interior...
I already had installed the recaros but they were not hooked up

so first the seats
unplug them

now your carpet.. its held in by multiple clips down the side...

now here is where things might really differ from your car.. i wired it like this to an wire with accy power..
yellow and green wired to yellow and orange
all balck wires together.
green and red to driver seat
green and blue to passenger seat

ok a bit more now.. after you ahve wired up your seat heaters lset go ahead and do the window switch... i decided to use the master switch and put it in my center console but you can do the same using the switches if you want to run all the wires to both sides of the car..

heres is the plug for the master switch
and how to wire them up..
green is your accy power
black is your ground
the yellow and white on the side of the ground is for the passenger side (just hook them up temporarly so you can figure which is up and which is down)
the yellow and white on the side of the plug with the green wire goes to driver side.

run your wires to the doors (which mine was already done) and clean it up.

then remove the door wire harness by turning this plug and pull it out

then put the new harness back in and run it through the door

now time for power to your window motor..this is what i did with the plugs for the power window motor this is where you will test the switch to see which is up or down.. if you push the switch and its the wrong way then just switch the 2 wires areound and sinch it up.

now its time for the locks..the factory set up you have to switch the gem unit but i had my aftermarket alarm set up in the doors so i just hooked those up since i wasnt using the switches anyways.


same setup here.. splice into the wires and test it.. if its wrong then switch it..
on the driver side there is 4 wires.. its the bigger 2 wires of the 4. i cant remember the color.
