Wastegate poll!!

ok i need some people's opinions!

wastegates...
do you have yours dumping into exhaust or just down a pipe towards the ground?

and what cons and pros does it have?>

Jgrove998 10-20-2009 12:16 AM

I think most are going to say dumping it into your exhaust.

I would feel like something was unfinished if I had it just going out a piping toward the ground.

i say dump it into your exhaust cause i have mine dump and it gets LOUD when the wastegate opens up.

my friend put a screamer pipe on his ms3 and it is pretty much epic.

dump it to the ground i love it

dumped to ground. it is the same concept as running a larger exhaust with the turbo. i have a 4" dp and a 2" wg pipe instead of stuffing both through a 4". plus i love the sound.

xecutionr 10-20-2009 01:35 PM

well i have come to the conclusion i'll just dump it intoa straight pipe, then later downt he road if i want it in my exhaust my father and I can make a pipe and weld it into the exhaust pipe. it isn't that hard. he does very well with welding

illinipo 10-20-2009 02:07 PM

all this talk is making me want to go ewg and make a dump pipe. Or do a divorced downpipe with IWG.

Turbo Turtle 10-20-2009 07:30 PM

i hate internal wg's. if i had the money i would change the whole turbo system on the sti not only just for a larger turbo but just as much for an external.

illinipo 10-20-2009 07:43 PM

yeah its just not worth it on my build, 10psi through an iwg is cake.

Dump it in the exhaust ,so u won't have to smell that crap rolling into the cabin.
