HTPerformance SVT to D23 Swap Journal
SO... some of you may know that HTP purchased the 2004 Wings West SEMA car that was used in the development and marketing of their WRC Replica kit.
Many parts from that vehicle will be coming up for sale and the unmodified Duratec 2.3L drivetrain with only 7700 miles will be going into my personal SVT Focus.
Goals with this are 2-fold:
1) Greater starting potential than the SVT powerplant (pretty much maxed out)
2) Will aide more in the development and testing of future HTP Duratec Parts
The WW WRC Replica had been in an accident and we salvaged all that we could from her. We were sad to see it go, but saved what we could to pass along the history to anyone who is interested in some or all of the parts.
This weekend we will be prepping my SVT; simultaneously removing the drivetrain and interior components to speed this along. LoudFocus01 has purchased all of the SVT Conversion parts for his SPI Sedan, and you can read his swap in another thread here.

Day 1 progress: Towed vehicle 100 miles from Boston, MA to Marlborough, NH.
Grille/Lights/Bumper/Fenders/Hood all came off.
Removed Wiring Harness.
Fuel Tank and Lines dropped.
Goals for Day 2:
- Replumb front brakes
- Replumb Fuel System
Day 2 Progress:
- Replaced fuel lines w/ Duratec lines
- Removed ABS/Traction control
- Installed 2.3L Duratec Motor and Transmission
- Swap Shift Cables
- Swap Fuel Tank
- Finish wiring
- Hook up exhaust
Total time for swap ~ 24-48 man hours.
