Cruise control

I'm in the process off piecing together all the parts needed to add Cruise control to my car. I was wondering if someone with an 05-07 with cruise can take a picture of how their Cruise cable mounts to the TB. I would greatly appreciate it. I got one from an 02 and wanna see if it'll work. The only difference I could see is that the cable from the 02 is shorter then one from an 05 that was also their, but the cable from the 05 was trashed.

the cable goes to a "peg" on the TB butterfly arm, just like the throttle cable . ill take a picture tomrrow

Hi, just a quick note, its not a terribly hard install, but the wiring can be a chore, and if you don't have a factory wiring harness for it, I recommend soldering all your connections so you're not removing the wiring to check for shorts.

Anyway, you need:

cruise control servo
cruise control throttle body cable
cruise control engine compartment wiring (from the factory it passes through the firewall where the engine and passenger harnesses meet in a giant electrical connector that can be a pain to work with)
Steering wheel with cruise control switches
Clockspring with cruise control provision (electrical connector next to the airbag connector)
steering column wiring (for the clockspring & steering wheel switches)
cruise control deactivator switch (its a green plunger style switch on the brake pedal assembly)
and if you have a manual, you also need a specific clutch pedal position switch that's red in color, cars without cruise came with a blue colored switch, that doesn't support cruise.

cheers,

I am finding out there is more to this than I thought.
I have bought the steering wheel switches, clock spring, and servo / cable.

I was hoping the wiring harness would be in place.
It used to be common practice at Ford to make only one wiring harness per model and just not connect those options not installed on a particular vehicle.
Guess that isn't the case anymore.

Her car, being a 2007, it is going to be hard to find the harness.
I would be more likely to replace the entire wiring harness then to try an piece it together.

So much for an easy install...

If you follow mjmallon he has it all correct. On my 06 all of the wires under the dash were there. I had to add the brake switch and change the clutch switch. Add the cruise switch ( clock spring was ok) and I was done inside. Also while you are in the column the wires are also there for the radio controls just plug it in.
Now for under the hood. You will need the servo and cable and the headlight harness. Try to get one from a car with fog lights in case you want to add those as all of the dash wires for the fogs is also there just add the switch. To change the harness you will need to remove the left wheel well cover. If you can get the parts it is not a bad job. pretty much plug and play. It works for me. good luck.

I am i the process of doing this as well, with the exception of changing my entire column at the same time. My car does not have the tilt telescope feature, and I have found a good deal on one, but the radio controls appear to be on a extra stalk of the side of the column, and the seller says the column does not have any wires coming out of it, do the column wires end in plug ins or what? I am asking here because this harness is mentioned as a required item to do this swap. Thanks again for any and all help. This place rocks.

does any one have a wiring diagram for the cruise servo? i have a pig tail and need to know whats what with the wiring, maybe even be stupid and run a toggle switch cruise till i get it installed correctly, if i can misuse a hand throttle as cruise i should be able to live with this for awhile, as long as i am careful.............and lucky. thanks to any and all who can/will help.

I'm looking to add cruise control to my 2007 Focus SE Wagon. I found a Ford Focus Cruise Control 2000-04 kit on ebay. It appears to be an oem kit. Does anyone know if this can be installed on a 2007?
