adding cruise control?
 

how hard would it be to add cruise control to a car that didn't come with it. it's an '04 zx3. any ideas?

I have a 2003 SE Wagon with SPI engine and 5-speed transmission.

There is a full factory cruise control kit including a new leather steering wheel sitting on the front seat of my 914, awaiting warmer weather to install.

[wrenchin] Doesn't look too daunting according to the instructions. I've read that it can be put together in a few hours. The driver side front wheelwell has to be removed and the controller bolted to the firewall. Then cables and wires run various places and plugged in. If you're interested I can scan the instructions to pdf and make available.

The kit was purchased on eBay for about $250.

Some of those kits on Ebay were about $50.00 and the others are $225.00 or so. Why the difference? Any ideas?

I've seen steering wheels with cruise buttons for $50, but the full kit contains considerably more.

FINALLY, I have been looking for that file for ever! I asked on here a couple times but no one had it, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. Putting my cruise on soon...

I saw a steering wheel for about $30.00 and also what was represented as a full kit. Solenoids, harness, bolts, steering wheel, etc. for the $50.00 figure. The other kits at much higher price seemingly were the same. Not wanting to hijack the thread, just curious. If the kit I saw had the black steering wheel I would have given it a go.

Let me know how your installation goes, any glitches or tips to make it easier. Mine is still in the box waiting for warmer and dryer weather.
