Does your SVT ever just die?

I've had this intermittend problem where sometimes when I am slowing down with the clutch pushed in, the RPMs just fall off and the car dies. It's never really been a problem since I've always had the clutch pushed in....I just turn they key and it starts right back up. Sometimes when I'm sitting at a red light or something at idle, the RPMs will fall to around 500 to 700 and it seems like it's gonna die, but I usually rev it up a little and it's back to 1k. Only mods I have are AEM CAI, and Tom's Diablosport Pred tune, which he tuned for the CAI. I don't think the mods are the cause of the problem because I remember this happening before I had done anything to it. Just wondering if anyone else has had this happen to them.

since you have a tune from tom, talk to him and tell him about this and he might be able to fix it in the tune

just a thought

It happened to me rather often, before and after toms tune. However a new lightweight flywheel and clutch pretty much solved it 100%. I'd imagine sometimes the ecu "accidentally" allows the rpms to spin to low on a decelleration and it cant compensate in time, flywheel is too heavy, and it just bogs out.

try cleaning your throttle body and unplug the MAF...then unplugg your battery (negative first) for 5 mins.....see if that helps

i had that problem. when my stock flywheel gave out i got lightweight flywheel and stage 3 clutch, that didn't really help a whole lot. the thing that really fixed my problem was getting a bigger throttle body

Yeah I've been looking at the CFM throttle body as my next upgrade. Never really thought about getting the flywheel though. I might just wait for a clutch upgrade for it. I made sure that the MAF was good and sealed, so I don't think that's a prob. I'll give Tom a shout later.

when yours dies, do the rpms just immediately drop off, or does it have a brief little stuggle to live? like the rpms jump back up a couple times then drop off again?

Check the O2 sensor as well.

This seems to be a popular subject.... And I popular thing for the SVT to do.... I happens to mine even with a tune from tom....
