Steering Heavy & Cracking Noise

Hi Everyone,

Last week my steering become really heavy, and cracking noises within the steering coloum like something was stopping me from turning the wheel.

Today I removed the airbag & steering wheel and noticed the flat white cable that connects to the airbag and curise control sockets had become tangled round the steering coloum. It was snapped it several places and once removed the steering was back to normal.

What part do I have to replace? do I have to replace the whole of the steering coloum with connectors?

Lucky the airbag never went off when the cable snapped when driving along!!

Thanks

Pictures of cable that I removed.
