thermostat housing leak?

Does anyone know where to get a aftermarket thermostat housing? i have a leak and cannot figure it out. I replaced the o-ring gasket inside the housing but it still leaks. Any help with this would greatly be appreciated!

Very commom leak, actually not only on the focus but all Ford's in general. They 'tend' to loose coolant mysteriously but for the most part, all related to a cracked thermo housing.

I don't know of any specific brands, when this happenned to me, I replaced it with an OEM.

I had same problem with my housing when I replaced the thermo. I noticed that there is not much room for error when putting item back together. The metal bracket has to be tight on the left side or you will leak constantly. The design is sub-par with those three screws, just make sure they are all in straight and that bracket is on tight or it will leak like a Sunofabitch.

Just had mine done last week under warranty. (29k) I can't believe they use plastic for it. VW's are just as bad, they are a known issue with them too only they are harder to get to.

^^ yeah plastic, my thoughts exactly......

^^^ It may not be the housing itself, it could be the plug as shown in the linked thread.

And...Here's some more:

Mine was warped a bit on the inside. Looked fine until I held it up to the new one. Took about 30min to remove the old one, switch over the thermostat, and bolt the new one up.

Thanks a ton!!! Mine is also leaking from that plug in the thermostat housing, i will be sure to fix this weekend!!
