So, started the 2011 Season and was very excited. I appreciate you guys helping with some info to get back into it.
[clap][race][driving]

It was tons o fun, yet again. Good to be back in the game. I ordered some 16" tires just waiting for them to come in and saving up for the 16" wheels.

I do have a question, well more of a observation. In the TX region today, there was alot of Drama in the ST Class stance. I ran in the ST vs 2 civic si's and they were quick. Now, for the drama. They were trailered in and had no Back Seats. I asked about it and some of guys there told me its under debate what's going on there because the merged all of TX's local break down back in to the National ST class. Funky. I didn't really make much of a fuss, because I knew I was there to just get my feet wet again, until the 16s come on. Then it's competitive mode. [race]

What are your thoughts?

Here are the results: I am in the ST class. There is another SVT in "R" class (Rookie Class) and those numbers are funky as well. NONE of them ran any better than 46s and the numbers here showed they ran quite well.

Any who, I need those 16s ... I can re-see that the 17s make you decide to either stay in 1st or jump into 2nd ... its a tough decision that happens during the slalom.

I agree, the back seat issue is a bit funky. The funny part is my main competition in 2010 was a trailered H- stock '89 civic si. I asked and received a ride in that one and thought it pulled pretty hard out of the corners for what it was . but as always the main part is to have fun. glad to hear you ran, sucks that I'll wait until late April or early May.

this is Ray's best run

my friend James in the rsx

and me.... well this one just shows how bad my tires loose traction and then just slide
the other camera was out of batteries and we were only able to get this one on my car

Here r the vudeos posted of my car, another FF member Zab and a friends RSX. Definitely felt good to run.

I say leave it in 2nd in the slalom. i feel i always gain time in the slalom by going fast and as straight as possible. i don't want to hit the limiter in 1st if do happen to go that fast. we all know how the limiter is in the SVT haha.

that is bogus.. no rear seats, SM(F)
i'd love to remove my back seats and stay in ST... ROTATION BABY!

you're so lucky. we had a meeting tonight and we aren't having our first event until late March. and we will most likely not be hosting the pro and nationals this year :(
we are trying though.

I know we are hosting nationals in TX. And the head guys here also gave us some pretty cool info. They have decided to visit 4 different locations to change up the area throughout the 2011 season here. Awesome. So in March's event we will be running the AutoX at a large Police Department on the other side of town. Then there is this great local track South of Houston that has given us a place to run in the summer. Then we are back at this track for Fall. Then somewhere else in the Winter.

For me, my best times we with holding 1st up until that slalom. Again, someone was talking about running 17s kinda makes u second guess 1st to 2nd. I am hoping when I get my 16s in that I will be able to making better shifts and get out of the corners quicker.

It was tons of fun, and being in TX is definitely an advantage to enjoy a whole years worth of AutoX.

Once you finish 2 more runs (4 total) you will be taken out of the "R" class.

And more than likely into the ST class.

Awesome. What kind of cars do you usually find in the ST class? i would just like to know what i may be going against some day. of course i don't that it really doesn't matter what kind of car it is cause in autocross it is really all about the driver but i would still like to know.

Front wheel drive 4 bangers really. Civics, Scions, RSXs ... etc. HP between 130-200

But it boils down to driver, suspension and tires. You can have a crazy HP car, but if it can't handle the turns and the driver doesn't gas and break at the right moments ... the results can be up and down.

I just got new Tires and lighter wheels ... so I am looking forward to the next run. Since my competition at the moment are 2 89' Civics. Light as crap and turn like no other, a good challenge.

ahh the light weight civics from the late 80's and early 90's. thats all there is in ST at nationals. Last year i think it was 35 civics and 2 other cars. (1 subaru, 1 celica,)

Really cool track. And being able to race all year, how cool is that. The 16 should help the TQ out of the corners but it will depend on the overall tire OD as compaired to the 17's. Your looking to lower the / go to a smaller OD tire. I was thinking of doing the same thing (16 to 15) but couldn't find some cheap 15 inch aluminum rims. I'll keep the 16s but look to lower the OD as much as possable. Since I race at a wide range of tracks i.e. they're never the same, gear selection is a matter of what a particular track needs. I don't like pushing the rev limiter as a normal routine item. The seat issue will work it self out. I don't see that being the 3+ seconds you needed to compeat. Good call not making an issue of it. Once you get the new tires on and a few events under your belt with the new tires, hopefully buy then the seat issue will be resolved. As you stated, the R ST time really raises an eye brow.He was really fast ????? Good luck with the new tires. I still have a few months before I can try out some new tires that I still need to buy

^^ You should look into Rotas ... they are surprisingly cheap and light.

Yeah ... and am looking forward to testing out the tires. I just got them in. But still waiting on the wheels ...

I will make a separate thread for that.
