17TH FF Photo Contest Jan 2013
17TH FF PHOTO CONTEST - January 2013
THEME: New Year, New Beginnings, New Photos
(OPEN BATTLE_Anything Goes.)
THIS MONTH'S THEME:
It's 2013 January. It's a new year. And I wanted to do an open photo contest for new photos. Meaning, I challenge you to go out and take a photo of whatever you feel like, but do a new photo and maybe a new challenge for yourself. So, let's do this with the new year, a new beginning of photography, and your new photos. Looking forward to seeing them.
Take a different look of creativity, so see what you guys can come up with.
For the month of January 2013. All submissions will be Gathered on JANUARY. 24th and voting will begin soon after that.
Have fun photographing.
Here is how you to play:
For the first 3 weeks of the month ... post ONE PHOTO per member to be put into the voting process.
When the first 3 weeks are over ... I will create a new thread that will have all of the entries gathered and create a voting Poll.
On the last day(s) of the month ... the voting will be seized and photo-votes will be tallied and then a Winner's Gallery will emerge for each month's photo winner.
1 - ONLY ONE PHOTO PER MEMBER PER MONTH (So yes, you can play every month)
2 - NO INAPPROPRIATE MATERIALS (Sex, Nudity or Discriminating PHOTOS are prohibited) ... Any violation to this rule will be disqualified for the month ...
3 - MULTIPLE OFFENSES TO RULE #2 WILL BE SUSPENDED
4 - NO CRITICIZING IN THIS FRIENDLY CONTEST. Just view the photos and vote for the one that catches your attention. Making a fair, unbiased yet fun game for everyone to join in.
5 - NO SLANDERING OR DOWN-TALKING ANYONE'S PHOTO IN THE CONTEST.
6 - ALL IMAGES MUST BE YOURS!!! NO COPYRIGHTED MATERIAL WILL BE TOLERATED IN THIS CONTEST.
7 - YOU CAN NOT RE-SUBMIT ANY WINNING PHOTOS. However you may re-submit photos that have not won in the past.
8 - ANY MODERATOR OF FF HAS THE RIGHT TO DISQUALIFY A PHOTO TO THEIR DISCRETION.
9 - PLEASE TRY TO KEEP ALL PHOTOS POSTED AT A MAXIMUM 1200 x 1200 RESOLUTION ... to keep the thread for taking to long to load.
10 - PHOTOS DON'T HAVE TO BE CAR RELATED. ALL SUBJECT MATTERS ARE WELCOME.
Alright everyone ... now that you know the rules. Let's start posting up the photos.
Now ... show us what you got. [:)][thumb]
REMEMBER ONE Photo per person. AND TRY TO KEEP PHOTOS AT A MAX RESOLUTION OF 1200 x 1200
WINNERS: WILL HAVE THEIR PHOTO POSTED IN A GALLERY ON FF ALONG WITH THEIR NAME AND CAMERA INFO FOR MANY OTHERS TO ADMIRE THEIR WORK FOR THE LIFE OF FF.
**Please be aware, that we are asking for winners, ONLY THE WINNERS, to approve a photo for us to put on the FF server so that the links won't be broken. If you DONOT AGREE with this request, please refrain from playing. Thank you.**
** You ARE NOT giving the rights to FF, just permission to ONLY put it in our Gallery for here. That is all ... you still own the copyrights and legalities behind them. **
Neat idea, this should have alot more entries. I should get around to taking a picture sometime soon. lol
Yeah, I figured the topics were getting a bit to specific, time to start fresh and let this one ride open for more entries.
Look forward to seeing what you bring in.
I have a good idea if I ever finish what I'm going to take a photo of... lol
Taken at Grand Teton National Park 2010
Totally using this one from a B&W shoot I did with the wife. Only photo from the shoot I can put up here [;)]
^^ yea ... I bet you and your wife enjoy those photos [hihi]
But seriously, I really like the way you did the lighting on this photo. Very well done and flattering to your wife.
Though the online photo hosting place you are putting your photo has a funky compression for photos, it still looks good.
**Edit**: I see you are using Photobucket, you should jump on the Flickr bandwagon for your good pieces of work. Their photo online compression is one of the best. Photobucket is just as bad as Facebook on photo-compression.
I actually compressed it before uploading. It would take an hour to upload full quality photo with my crappy internet.
Posted via FF Mobile
Well, I bet your compression through your software looks tons better than going through Photobucket. Which then is crappy double compression through them.
I'll use this one. It's my first attempt at new to me photoshop.
