I thought out of curiousity I'd start a poll to see what kind of mpg everyone is getting. If you are getting around 30+ mpg could you please reply with the things you did or methods used to increase your mpg. I've filled up 3 times so far. The mpg for the tank of gas from the dealership is not accurate as I don't know for sure if the trip miles were on the tank.

Rounded to the nearest 10th.
Fill up---MPG
0---------????
1---------24.4
2---------25.7
3---------Still driving on this tank.

I up shifted a little bit later on fill up #2 (between about 2750 and 3000 rpms vs around 2250 give or take 200 rpms.

New 2015

So far over 1800 miles I am averaging 37. My commute is 25 miles each way half "city" (30-45 mph)half expressway on the way to work and all city, stop and go on the way home. I drive conservative but don't hipermile it. 70-75mph on the highway, leave the start stop on for long lights. Got it up to speed and into 6th as soon as possible.

Not bad at all for having fun with it.

Conversion of the obviously backwards numbers was just for fun as well.

Liters per 100 KM is backwards to many of us used to distance per fuel unit calculations, in use it's more practical since the result doesn't get wild swings in numbers from small variations.

Filled up tank, 10.6 gallons. Trip computer said 20 miles to empty. 333 total miles equals 31.4 mpg. So the fuel calculator in the dash is off by about 1 mpg. Now 31 mpg does not sound that great for a 1.0L 3 cylinder Ecoboost engine. but factor in that it took just over 9 hrs to drive 333 miles, you can see that the opportunity to drive in a manner that promotes good fuel economy is just not there. I am going on a road trip in a few weeks and should see what realistic fuel mileage really is.

'16 Focus Hatch Ti DCT. Since I bought the car in mid. Nov. have averaged 31.8 MPG over 2000 miles, 60/40 HWY/CTY. Have been using the remote starter pretty regularly (hate being cold) and I have a traffic laden 2.5 mile 4 stop loop running errands at work daily that brings down my average. I don't have a light foot, but keep it to around 75mph on the HWY because I don't want tickets. Mods are snorkel delete, AEM DryFlow, and RS Airbox. For comparison my former TDI diesel Golf was getting around 37 MPG under the same conditions.

2013 SE with no engine mods, M/T, I'm getting on average about 31MPG with all city driving.

Went to my parents 4.5 hrs away and averaged 33.7mpg doing 70-75 most of the way. I dropped a K&N filter in while I was there and my average topped out at 37mpg for a little while but leveled out to 34-35mpg for the rest of the return trip. Not bad for only a simple filter upgrade.

My '04 Focus SVT manages 20mpg, less if I actually use the throttle lol.
then again, I live in the suburbs. There's a stop light every 5 yards.

Best I've ever had was 26-27, and that was a 4hr drive north on highway, 60-70mph.

I've been thinking about getting Tom's Tune, that it might help in not only power but also increase my mileage.

The MPG in my 2013 Titanium Hatch is all over the place & that’s because I live in a heavy traffic area. Last night I only got 22.7 MPG on surface streets but this morning I got 29.7 with less traffic on the freeway.

I did take it on a road trip, roughly 300 miles & averaged 37.3 mpg on the way up & 33 mpg on the way back. I’m sure if I didn’t have these 235/40/18s & had the SE pkg. that it would do a little better.
