Or do it the more simple and logical way and use the relay that is in there. I have plenty of experince with electrical stuff in a car (not a house, I'd kill myself) and I just won't do things that are unnecessary when there is a smarter way to do it.
The in line fuse idea on the wire does solve alot of concern, very good idea if you go that route.

|Oni||Well, if you're wired about it catching on fire, then just put in a line fuse so if it blows, the wire is short circuited. They sell those at Wal-Mart with blade fuse or glass fuse in line with 30A rated wire for less than $2.00.|

say, i really can't say there is much difference b/w putting a wire with spade connectors into the proper slots and modifying the relay. a glance at the manual shows fuse #44 (20amp) protecting the circuit.
there is nothing crazy about either method. it might take a certain amount of courage to mess with anything electrical the first time? or the first couple of times. i use a wire and spade connectors and find the most frequent worry with the car is potholes or similar with the "bendy" five-spoke wheels. i spent more time writing two postings to this board than on the mod ... and neither is my electrical harness melted nor my car in flames.

Uhhhh, yeah. That would be the point of a fuse box. If something goes wrong, the fuse is supposed to pop. If there is a straight wire in there, I would think that the car would catch on fire if there was to be a problem.

|sidney61199||Don't be shoving wires into your fuse box, no offense to anyone but thats just dumb. Take the foglight relay out (not sure of the number off hand), take the plastic cover off and use what ever you like (small zip strip for example) to make the metal tab coming off the side of the relay to make constant contact. Put the plastic cover back on and stick the relay in the fuse box and its done. Takes about 5min and $1 in parts (for the extra tiny zip strips). I know the wire method works but come on people when I first read to do it that way I thought you people are crazy (and I still do). Common sense says not to stick wires into a fuse box.|

get some male spade connectors. here is a male/female set for less than $2. IIRC, the 1/4" spade works fine.
