|FocusInAlaska||I drag race and drive autocross with my ABS/traction control fuse pulled. Other than losing the ABS function, my brakes function fantastically. I will essentially pitch the traction control when I get a tune.|

|TwighlightBlueZx5||but i heard if you take out fuse for TC you lose abs and it messes up your braking... i will get a tune to take it off , but what can i do with it on...?|

|uncle20john||i ran a 14.7 w/ 2.1 reaction on 14" stock tires. all i have is jrsc w/ bbk, flex back exhaust, short shifter,and rear engine mount inserts. i also took oyt the back seats, passengervseat, rear trim. now take in consideration that i still have stock clutch, exhaust manifold & cat. i'm going to what i can run with drag radail.|

Between full-in and full-out there is a transition area in clutch engagement. In normal driving, this transition area is passed through rather quickly in a linier manner.
When you "feather" the clutch, effort is made to engage the clutch with extra effort and time in the transition area. Muscle memory from your thousands of normal launches must be set aside and a "feel" developed so as to not overcome available traction. All while the motor spinning higher than in a normal street launch.
Too quick of an engagement will bog the motor or spin the tires, too slow will burn clutch friction material and result in a slow launch.
With the SVT I've found about 2'-3' of wheel spin leads to my best launches.

20lbs of pressure in those tires up front, 50lbs in the back.
Feather the clutch don't pop it and expect traction.
