exactly, 2.25 might have slightly more torque just because of back pressure, but you won't feel it really. If you plan to go turbo, you will need to change the header anyway, and prolly go to 2.5 or 3 all the way through. If you plan to go with SC just stick with 2.25.

AC21365 just get 2.5" piping in the first place and call it a day... you're not going to lose a significant amount of tq n/a by doing this... i doubt the difference between pipe diameters will even be noticeable, performance-wise...

Civic-hunter in the long run i'd prefer to run 2 1/2. I could certainly get all 2 1/4, however, i'd prefer not to spend 350 + dollars on a high flow cat twice. the problem is that i already have the 2 1/4 exhaust and SVT header sitting in my garage.

kenpokid Why dont you just get one that outlets 2 1/4 so you can bolt it up to a 2 1/4 Flex-pipe, which will bolt up to a 2 1/4 exhaust?

RT SVT cat 2 1/2 - Exhaust 2 1/4

can i get a Random Tech SVT cat that outlets 2 1/2 and use a 2 1/2 to 2 1/4 connecter to attach it to a 2 1/4 exhaust system. this may sound ridiculous in the first place but the reason i ask is because i found a good deal on a 2 1/4 exhaust but i still hope to eventually go forced induction. so, i'd rather upgrade just the exhaust as opposed to upgradeing the exhaust, cat and possibly flexpipe.
