popecruz I drove my friends ST i was talking about, and teh clutch took like 2 whole seconds to engage when u dumped it. It felt so crazy.

Redphoakis I broke my ST in pretty decent and the thing runs like a raped ape, I still wanna run another ST or SVT

viney266 Why not just break it in proprerly anyway.. Wrong or right about break in procedures.. If you break it in, you have no worries!

FocuzdZX5 That's not the engine!! I see your point, but wasn't talkin about the clutch. Besides, racing in general your taking a chance of breaking something.
06-30-2005 11:10 PM
Toolman00 There are other things that need to break in other than engine. What about the clutch?
06-30-2005 11:05 PM
FocuzdZX5 yes, if you drive in stop and go traffic and only travel about 15 miles then you need to change every 3g. If you drive mostly hwy and over 15miles at a time you can go 4-5g's.

Daeron like changing oil every 3k miles?
06-30-2005 10:53 PM
FocuzdZX5 With todays engines, there is really no break-in period. It is just a feel safe that most are used to doing. I will try to look up the documentation that I saw that in. There are a lot of old school things that are still done in the auto industry that we do not have to do. Likewise there are things that we do that we didn't do 5-10yrs ago. I'm sure I'll get some slack for this but I don't care.
