bbiggs the only modification my to 2007 focus automatic is the exhaust which helped. I only get 30 to 32 on the hwy driving a steady 65, moderately. New tires helped with an eye on proper inflation.

nostalgia_martyr '06 ZX3 2.0L Duratec with 123k miles.

39-40 MPG during the summer. 90% hwy, 10% city.

Methods: NO use of A/C, NO idling, coasting to stops, moderate acceleration, max recommended tire pressure, windows down only at speeds of 45mph or less, taking routes with the fewest stop signs/traffic lights, avoiding expressways when highways will do, and what I call "reverse speed method".

RSM----> Most people drive the speed limit in town and speed like maniacs on the highway. I do the opposite, sort of. In a 25mph zone, I do 30. In a 30, I do 35. 35, I do 42 because this is a shift point in my transmission. Once I get on the highway (55mph zone), I will go 42-45 IF I am all alone on the road. If someone catches up to me, I speed up to 52-53mph so they don't get mad and I don't cause an accident.

Winter is harsh on my car and I do not get 39-40MPG. Not even close.

frednumber15 03 ZX3 Zetec. avg 35 mpg in summer...around 30 mpg in winter. 39 mpg on highway is best trip mpg.

Use a Scangauge....tire pressures a bit above avg...plywood shield under front.

Most effective gain in mpg can be found by using a Scangauge or similar...though you will need to change driving techniques.

BlackburnD 2011 Focus. Averages around 30-31 constantly. We live in Germany currently, and I think the slightly higher speeds on country/rural roads accounts for a better MPG. On those roads the limit is 100k or about 60mph, and it runs around 2.5-3k rpms. I find on the autobahn if I hold it at about 130kph it sits at around the same rpm range, and the mileage goes up slightly. Highest we have ever gotten was about 31.8.

StephenElsbree1986 I recently did a cross country trip and got 34.2. This is resetting my trip from cville VA, to Sunland California. The car was taking the 40west all the way cross. on the way back I reset my mpg once on 40w at all the different traffic limits to see where it got the best millage and it was at 75mph, i got 45mpg. Also car was loaded down with clothes and other things. But brand new tires maybe that helped.

SVT focus: about 8 MPG

fighterbandit1200 tends to stay around 32- 33.2 on my wifes 2013 Ti HB, i`ll reset the trip puter every few weeks she drives 75% highway,
but highway in east central florida I95 avg is around 75 mph so not too bad to me, she can get all the petals lit on anticipation but not speed .

CanFocusFan Hi: All... Best we've done is 43 miles to the Imperial gallon= 37 mi./US Gallon. Driving the double nickle or less... that's about 5 ltr's per 100 kms. but only in Canada Eh?
