Leecarrera Useful info there, thx.

Leecarrera Not sure that'll work for me to pass emissions but that link Sailer put up is useful, i'm looking at Magnaflow.

sleepyboy I hollowed it out when I put the shorty header on lol, then got rid of it later for a long tube header. I actually still have the hollowed out cat just sitting on the shelf encase the laws change but I doubt they will where I live. I tend to hoard parts lol

Leecarrera Which make did u replace it with?
02-15-2014 10:58 PM
sleepyboy Sounds like a clogged cat. When mine went out it broke into pieces and the car wouldn't accelerate very well at all.

Leecarrera Left the car to warm up for a few mins. came back & saw the exhaust sputtering, engine idle erratic & smelling exhaust fumes in the cabin. Drove it for a little while & felt no power accelerating, eventually the CEL came on. Waiting on my friend to borrow his OBD tester to check the code but another friend of mine said it's most likely the catalytic converter. The coil pack I changed about 3 yrs ago I dunno if that could be it as well.

BC_ZX3 And what makes you think your converter is "bad?" Even after market converters are quite expensive. I'd make sure you're not replacing a non-faulty part first.

Upgrade Catalytic Converter

I think my Catalytic Converter might be bad, what's a good upgrade replacement make/model for my stock 01 zx3 without spending too much?
