mac.mogul Wow, Wisconsin sounds like the WORST place to live.

Maybe you can get her to pay you back in cheese.

Nevin W Here in Canada the stickers you put on your plates are what tell you if you have insurance. So if people drive without it the police know about it instantly and can pull you over for it. If you get caught, it will go on your criminal record depending on if you just blatently drove without insurance or if you forgot. Americans may not like how we do it because it affects your freedom or whatever, but I am very thankful for it. Hell, I even pay the extra $25 a year for increased protection against under insured drivers.

She gave the officer an invalid insurance card. The card appeared legit therefore she wasn't ticketed.
Similar here in CA, however if there is an accident involved, you can be jailed for not having proper insurance at the time of the incident. You may not be taken in the day of the incident, however if the case does go to court, and you lose, and you are unable to pay for the damages+ fees, you go to jail.

Agreed on the judgement too.

sM17 I'm fine now. Everything is healed up.

I was out of work for quite a while.

Wracked up a ton of bills.

mainest Bring a suit, get a judgment, and put it in your safety deposit box. A judgment, in many jurisdictions, is good for twenty years. If she wins the lottery, inherits money, or wins a judgment of her own, then you will have a claim on what she has.
"She hit me so hard she broke my seat"
It looks like she broke more than your seat!
How's your back, now?

sM17 All I had was liability and it was old enough a policy to not include "uninsured drivers insurance"
