t-bilt Update... 2012 Focus TI - I now have156,013 getting 37~38 mpg... It's been a good car so far... trying to keep up with tranny recalls and updates has been a chore...

studiotime 174,832 miles on my 2003 manual ZX3. Still on original clutch but it has had it's fair share of repairs. Nothing major as far as engine or transmission however, just mostly accessories like water pump, two timing belts, a/c, alternator, etc. Most expensive repair so far have probably been the motor mounts. I plan on driving it for another 75k+ if it will let me!

detritusmaximus I thought I was doing pretty good, but tintulip has me beat.
313k. Bought 01 ZX3 new, runs great. Put in the SVT suspension kit when it came out and haven't had any real complaints. In fact, just did the second timing belt.....1st one was about 100k. Think about that. 200k on the timing belt. Replaced it two weeks ago and was able to tear it in half with my hands.
Just installed the timing belt/tensioner/idler/waterpump/all 3 motor mounts/serpentine and idler/crank seal/one cam seal and it runs nearly as smooth as new.
If only it wasn't an automatic....then again that may be why it lasted this long. Well, that and it was my wifes car until June.

tintulip Our 2002 FF has just over 400,000 miles. Single engine. No major problems.

RonMaiden I don't put the miles on my car like many people do as I just hope mine holds up to time as I plan on milking this car as long as I can. I only average about 8000 miles a year so it'll take me til 2024 before I hit 100k.

t-bilt I agree... However, wouldn't you agree we continue to see influences from our European neighbors? I think the revised 2011 and up focus is a prime example. The recently announced RS also comes to mind.

My main point, without highjack a thread, is why can't folk enjoy a nice domestic? How come there are so many snobs that want to imbibe in an import... LOL

sailor Tech. went both ways with those, and some of the tech. originated over here before Ford was involved directly.
