No luck with the dealer. I drove it in as I was experiencing the burning smell, and they didn't have anyone availble to look at it until today. Couldn't reproduce it and no codes this time. The techs words were "your fluid doesn't look overly burnt" and after further poking he said it was still the normal red color. Guess I'm going to have to wait until my clutches fry and push the car back into the dealer for the clutch replacement. I've drove manuals for the last 4 years - should have stuck with it
Hey 10'ses,

Hi 10'ses,

I'd like to put you in touch with your regional customer service manager, who'll see you through this process. Please PM your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, mileage, and servicing dealership.

VonKaiser Well I got the car back and that's all good but the transmission still lurches and just cannot find the right gear. I'm disappointed they couldn't replicate my experience to see what I'm talking about. If I have to take it to the shop every month until something gets fixed I will! I never heard from my regional mgr do I have no clue if he even made contact with the dealer.

The sync issue seems to be fixed but I've only driven 50 miles do we will see this week during the daily commute.

My instrument cluster display was updated. They applied all the TSB's available so everything should be updated.

VonKaiser They called me yesterday and told me they were unable to identify the clutch issue but they performed all available TSBs for the car and they are currently diagnosing my sync issue.

I hope I can get my car back soon, even though I love my 2013 Ford Edge loaner car. :)

VonKaiser Just to let you all know I dropped off my Focus Saturday morning and they are going to keep it a few days to go over everything. I did get a sweet new Edge loaner vehicle. :)

I will let you all know what happens...

10'ses Is your vehicle at a Ford Dealer, 10'ses? Let me know and I'll look into available options.

Hi Todd, I'm actually all set and have the car back. The dealer found a code in my transmission and updated it to the new software and so far so good. I'll let you know if I need your assistance. I have a good sales/service relationship with my ford dealer, so not necessary to escalate anything.

I just came from a mustang and they have their fair share of quirks. Namely noisy suspension components and an ornery manual trans (why would you put a soft rubber bushing in a short throw sports car is beyond me). Also the autos are notorious for slow shifting without a tune. I miss the heck of the Stang, but all cars have their quirks. Best of luck to ya at the dealer
Thanks Guys. :)
