I've done that before, too. I've had two Toyotas with the cruise control stalk right there.

I'd prefer if the cruise controls were on the right just because of muscle memory, but I understand why Ford would want to keep the driving stuff on the left and the entertainment/info stuff on the right, nearer the center stack.

That's a shame. I use the MFT Home button all the time, and a paddle for Sync seems way more in line with the "easy-to-activate hands-free safety" theme the market is going for with heightened voice controls.

I also really don't like that it's asymmetrical. Makes it look like a lower model.

I have MFT so I don't have the right side D-pad anyway, but it'd be even worse with MyFord, considering how much of it you can control just from the right D-pad. I had a few days to play with it in a rental. Some days I wish I had MyFord just because being able to control everything from the wheel is such a great way to do things. With MFT, browsing my music library is way too hard.

I actually like having the space between the wheel there. It felt pointless to have the control buttons for the stereo on the wheel when the buttons for the stereo on the center console are about a foot away. I have from time to time hit the voice control button thinking that is the ok button, but i've gotten used to it and like it

RonMaiden Yes, the DCT needs proper paddle shifter like almost all other cars have. Those little buttons on the shifter dont do it with regard to spirited shifting.

Chris26 Since they removed the sync "paddle" they need to figure out another place to put the cruise control buttons and put proper flappy paddles there instead of the terrible +/- buttons on the shifter.

A little bit haha it takes some getting used to. I do like having the open area so I can place my hands there. I'll go to try to hit the volume button from time to time and realize it's not there any more haha

Yeah, I'm aware of that. I'm just glad I can control the menus from the wheel. Not that I use the menus that much, but it seems like it's less of a distraction when controlled that way.
