Edgenet [QUOTE=Highball116;4867447]Yes, I've found that owners of the old Escort wagons really like their cars. They're just the right size, but unfortunately the head gaskets pop like corn at a multiplex. Or cherries on prom night, whichever you prefer.

CotyM You guys are silly, just unbolt the lower bolt from the fender and drive down the road, the care will make a thump, pull to the right a bit and tear it off, bam, easy access.

Edgenet I am not a big fan of fords they always seem to do crazy thinks on all their cars and trucks. I do like buying Focus station wagons and fixing them up and re-selling. People love small wagons to bad most manufacturers stopped making them.

amc49 Yeah, kinda stupid they didn't extend the tube and bend sideways so it fit in a precut hole in inner fenderwell there. It would've even resulted in more accumulator sales when people sideload the part and crack it if designed right. Ford engineer asleep that day from too much partying the night before.........

mikebontoft Remove engine, drop fuel tank and remove the left rear parking brake assembly to access the low pressure port located near the right front wheel.

amc49 Or simply lie on your back and fit the hose up on top of the accumulator. No parts removed at all, and no jack.
