SVTFocus noob Well got the JE pistons and Eagle rods in, at the machine shop now, waiting on them to get all the work done, might be a while they said. But in mean time cracked open the trans for the LSD install. The plan is to get a Quaife from CFM for it. Just wanted to get some other eyes on it. I don't know a whole lot about trans so if you see anything wrong let me know. Where the oil is collected on the lower half is where the trans used to leak from slowly. Thinking the sealant was just starting to give after 180K.

sutyak Good luck with the rebuild.
Déjà vu here too. I lost that same landing in my first duratec motor, which is now my current built motor.

SVTFocus noob

Got the engine apart, found 3/4 pistons looking like this one^ minus the oil ring being gone, the 3rd cyl was only one with it destroyed. Going with JE 9.0:1 85.5mm bore and Eagle rods. Anyone know of any good machine shops around the Havelock, NC area? Trying to find a shop to bore it. I'll keep you all updated with the build, just ordered my full 3" exhaust finally. Much more to go looking to make 350-400 to the wheels when all said and done.

SVTFocus noob So got the turbo manifold off and the 3rd cylinder's exhaust port is wet and covered in black oil. My guess is the rings?? The smoke "from the mainfold" was actually the breather tube I hade routed back there smoking along with the drip tube coming from the snorkel. I was going to do a rebuild for lower compressions anyways. Any recommendations? I can't find my old email from tom on his. What's best piston-rod combo for bottom end rebuild??

sleepyboy Faulty fuel injector O-ring? That could explain the smoke and the smell?

ZXthrizzle05 my opinion yes

SVTFocus noob Bump on my most recent post, still can't figure out why it won't start, I had it running and driving fine through the neighbor hood the other day. I just replaced the brake booster hose quick disconnect on the intake. Car still isn't starting and still smokes from intake. Could it be my tune delivering too much fuel? Because it smells like gasoline all over the intake when the car can actually start.
