05focusST91 It has to be in gear to check it, e brake up and light revs while in first/reverse

RedRiderr13 i was looking at it today, didnt have anyone to watch it though, maybe this weekend i can get some extra eyes. the bishing did have some cracks here and there and some chuncks. i started it and reved it in nuetral, but didnt make any noise, but i guess its not the same as actually driving it. i think ill just have to wait till this weekend and see if i cant get a fix to this andf hopefully next paycheck i can get this fixed and do the poly dog bone upgrade too just cuz. ill update this weekend. thankyou again.

05focusST91 No, you can actually look at it and see if the bushing is all distorted. Or put it in gear with the e brake up, give it a little gas and have someone watch the movement. Its right under the coolant reservoir.

RedRiderr13 ok, proper way to check? or just replace and hope? would a new p/s mount cause drivers to go out also?
07-15-2013 01:32 AM
05focusST91 No but the p/s one is known for going bad and giving erratic noises.

RedRiderr13 could the lower torque mount(dogbone) cause it? i just thought of that cuz its only under acceleration.

05focusST91 No problem, just thinking of anything that could be causing it.

RedRiderr13 hmm, didnt think of that. its a different noise then ive ever heard. this is my first fwd vehicle though. on hills and turning, so making a right hand turn on an incline seems to be the worst it shakes alot and is loudest then. but i noticed on downshifting that i hear very little noise. if that helps at all? thanks for all your help so far 05focusST91

05focusST91 If its on acceleration still check your p/s motor mount.

RedRiderr13 ok, update time. this weekend i replaced control arms and ball joints. got rid of part of the clunk, but there is still a vibration noise under acceleration, so even though cv joints arnt leaking or torn, i think im looking into replacing those next, and then go from there. does anyone know how i could check if the axle itself is the problem?
