There are plenty of dyno's showing the validity of the majority of the intakes that are available, so stating that they aren't effective just isn't true. All of them have pros and cons, and all of them serve some people better than others.
yes I can agree with that... this is true different ones yield different results I'm just stating my personal experience with mine. I am purchasing the tune from Injected and per their advice they said to go back to stock as based on their dyno it did not yield more hp and in some cases lost horsepower as in mine. I love my injen as well when it is cold and I first take off it is loud and great but if I am being speed racer in hot temps then for me my car has been dogging out and almost going into symptoms of limp mode. Since I put my stock back on I have plenty of hp no matter what the outside temp is and it has not dogged out yet. I will keep monitoring it and see if i stand corrected

yoshi1015 Please understand everything I wrote is based on my experience and people I have spoken to. I am just stating that I see the value of buying the right intake and exhaust from the people the write the tunes. They work together and the car performs better under all circumstances.
I hope I didn't offend anyone .. I love the idea of tricking out my car too

ok then you need to talk to Aaron @ Injected who has dynoed it with different cold air and it is also their advice to put the stock back on. (they recommend the tune with factory intake they have dynos to prove it)
this is one source...
then the other one is from x ford tech who now runs his own ford tune shop who also wrote about needing a tune to go with the cold air. Its not just the hot air it is the whole computer management software the needs to be tweaked etc.

I'm assuming you're giving this advice to owners of Injen intakes. There are other short-ram intakes that have heat shields of much better design than the Injen, IMO (K&N & Steeda, at least), that do a decent job of blocking engine bay heat. The owners of those intakes may not have the same experiences as you. lmiyar I get the hot air after accelerating with all-stock parts. I think it's a feature (?) to turn off the AC momentarily to have more power to the wheels during heavy acceleration

yoshi1015 ok fyi everyone..... I have had the injen cold air intake installed by injen for over 7k miles and the other techs including Aaron are correct. PUT YOUR STOCK INTAKE BACK ON. I have more power now that i put my stock intake back on. Here are the symptoms before:
when it is hot outside or in traffic while it is hot outside the car loses so much power it acts like you have a bad spark plug or something, shifts terrible and if you put the a/c on high and accelerate then it will be blowing hot air for a moment during heavy acceleration. I read an article way back from an x ford tech and current tuner and he said cold air intakes are useless on the focus without a tune to go with it. So, I will be purchasing cold air from Aaron when he has it available with his tuner. Just my experience for what it is worth.

lmiyar are there dyno test for this setup? I was about to buy a K&N kit when I read about the drop-in + snorkel delete, I wish to know the difference in performance since the kit is 5x as expensive as the drop-in
