Hollie0316, you might want to start a new thread in the general tech chat section to get more views and possible responses.
You should probably be looking for a problem with an ABS/wheel speed sensor, that's the most likely thing on your car to trigger both warning lights at once. It wouldn't hurt to check the brake/(clutch if so equipped, they share the samer fluid on manual cars) reservoir to make sure the fluid level is good.
Next step would be to find a parts store that has scan tools capable of reading ABS codes (I think Autozone will), some can and will do it for free and that will narrow things down to tell you which corner of the car is faulty and what the specific trouble code is, it's imperative that you learn the DTC and what it involves. After that it's down to a sensor or wiring problem. It's the only electrical wiring going into the wheel hub areas of the car. And be careful if you decide to pull the sensors, the 10mm bolt heads can twist off easy if they've been in a salty environment.
How many miles on it and did it always live in CA?

|nilskje||A disabled ABS system will also give both lights on, (disables itself when it cant find all wheelsensors, and also if it lacks +12v, chk fuses). For the sensors I strongly recommend doing a scan of the errorcodes, to make life a bit simpler. Car will stop just fine with the ABS system inop, but will not help you when its slippery and you hammer the brakes...|

A lot of times you can just pop them out of the hub and visually inspect them. If they have a lot of dust or grit on them, they won't read correctly. They are magnetic, so they attract iron filings and such. Likewise the reluctor rings on the axles/hubs; they need to be clean and free of any dirt, grit, or chips in the teeth.
I would start there.
