squirrelly1 Drive it hard for stress relief. Never worry about fuel mileage because gas is cheaper then my other addictions lol.

tukaniSVT ^^ Very interesting.

I drive my car in a mix group of ways from everyone's comments.
I would daily it to work so often in granny mode.

Then when I am late for something or just wanting to get a good breeze with the windows down, I go for it.

And of course when I go to the AutoX courses, I push 1st and 2nd through the cones.

Overall, since I have bought the car. It has felt great from day 1. I will say, that since I bought it new in 03, the car doesn't pull as hard as it use too, but it's also a lot more smoother in the power band. Could all be in the tuning.

The SVT is just one hell of a zippie car. And always fun to drive. Even my mechanics say that each time they align my car and take it for a spin.

look what i found!

flipping through my svt specific booklet i found this!! and i have been sticking to it! so far the car runs/ shifts smooth because the rpms are right where they are supposed to be. and mpg's seem to be up! lets see how many i get out of this tank! you shift at every half mark

ChrisRobin It's my DD and all city driving... so my mileage is complete garbage. I don't know the actual 'mileage' per se, but if I do some highway I'll hit 350km's or slight more per tank. If it's all city, then 300km's if I'm lucky.

Name another car that doesn't take premium, gets 28-30mpg, cost around the same(mine was 12k in 2009 w/ 13k miles), and is as fun to drive as an SVT? For me, I wanted a fun reliable car for my DD, and I'm a Ford guy so the cheapest most logical car was the SVT for me. It gets 28-30 every tank, and I drive it spirited at times, but just don't see the point of beating the balls off of it. It also looks nice next to my 03' SVT Lightning, and 07' STI lol.

Maybe once a week I will wring it out to 7k, but after it is definitely warmed up.
My car originally came from California and didn't make the trip to CT until 2009. The original owner was pretty anal about the car and had a gas log book which showed multiple tanks over 28mpg, a couple even over 30 and as high as 34-35.

thenorm when im lazy i'll skip shift. 1-2-4-6. 1 to 3 is too big a gap so i dont bother with that, but sometimes i might 1-2-3-5.

this car feels the best to me on the hwy, or anywhere mid to high speed. ripping up an on ramp going through 2-3-4 is the best, and the intake growls nicely.

Ive found that the SVT gets the best milage right around 2900-3000rpm if you hold it consistantly. Take a long road trip, cruise control it at 65-70, and you can see over 35mpg if conditions are right. I managed to get 40 once.
i like to keep the revs down when im not trying to have fun. but im curious about the bogging down, i think i might be a culprit of this, how does this use more gas? is it better to ride around town in 4th then 6th?
