7-8 psi is just wrong. psi is irrelevant. torque figures are what you need to look at. most safely run 220-250 wtq on the stock engine. on smaller turbos this will take about 12psi.
like tom said turboing is only half the battle. what ever you choose make sure you get good tuning

Personally, I can't see pushing more than 7-8psi on a stock block. Anything more is taking a risk that I wouldn't want to take if your on a budget.
As 1turbofocus had mentioned, tuning is the key when it comes to forced induction. I've seen a few too many engines grenade from lack of a good tune.
My thought is if your going to shell out the cash to do a turbo engine, then save a few more bucks and build the block as well and have the peace of mind that it's going to last. Otherwise, grab a bottle of NOS and spray the hell out of the stock engine till it blows and continuously replace the engine with junkyard engines.
Fast, cheap and reliable aren't usually in the same sentence.

Its was done 10 years and hundred of cars before ts came along , you will need far more then injectors and a clutch , you will spend almost 1000.00 on tuning alone with a tune and xcal3 flasher , MAFia , then wastegate and BOV and on and on but when finished there a blast

turbo zetec focus project
hello I am going to put a turbo into a stock focus, the only thing changing will be the fuel injectors and the clutch. I seen it done on youtube from topspeedperformance.net
they are pushing 12 psi
what is a good psi on stock zetec
