mndude I just bought a '04 SVT w/ Euro pkg with less than 9K miles for less than $15K. So far I love it!!!

MISVTfocus Dude a 77k SVT right now is only worth about 6 grand max. DEFINATLY DO NOT BUY. Keep lookin, look for something ford certified.

osunick What are they asking for it? Anything over 10K with those suspicious attributes is highway robbery.

machewcoy well; i'm not too sure about getting that particular SVTF now...it's got around 77k miles going for 10k....there's also a LOT of other cosmetic problems that would suggest it's been in an accident that i didnt notice before...i dont think i need carfax to tell me wats goin on with this one...stinks though, cause it's another black 2003! if i had the money, i'd buy just so that i could keep track of it...

SVT4ME It's possible that for whatever reason the original owner of the car didn't like the stock SVT headlights and had them changed. For example, my SVT has a chrome hatch strip, I didn't even realize until after buying it that the 02's were supposed to have a black strip.

However, the possibility of accident damage and the fact that it sounds like it's on a used car lot (not a dealer's used car lot, but a used car only lot) makes things a little "iffy" to me. I would definitely have someone who knows how to check for accident repairs look at the car.

sininja I bought my SVT used with 13000 miles in mint condition. Here is a list of things it has needed since (I've only had it 8 months, and it now has 33000 miles on it)

New crate ENGINE!!! Thing blew up in the middle of nowhere.... Thanks ford....
Clutch TSB It needed it really bad
Complete new intake My mech found it when doing the clutch
Something to do with where the coolant hoses go into, it's getting fixed right -now because it's leaking!
A air idle control valve- the damm thing would raise over 2000 rpms every time you pressed the clutch in to shift!
Lots of loose misc. shields and hangers throughout car that were rattling.



It's pathetic considering how the car is driven, I either have a Yellow Lab in the hatch or my 1 yr old son in his car seat with me 95% of the time. All the miles on it since I bought it are highway too, so to me the problems are far too frequent. I know there are a lot of TSB's in my list but come on.... A blue STI is on the horizon.
