Progress update: passenger's side is done, only driver's side pending. Maybe next week will be ready...
Also I got these chrome rings that look great with the original dog dish hubcaps:
The trunk was full of rust holes, and now it looks like new:

It's been a while since I updated this, but I just wanna let you guys know that the car is currently being taken care of at the body shop, I have a few pics from a door that had rust holes:
I'll post some more pics soon, the guy is fixing just the messy parts, because the paint is original, so he's leaving as much original paint as he can.

I had to chime in here! I haven't posted in awhile anyway.
Dude, I have almost the exact same car myself, except red interior. Mine is also a 4dr, just not a 500xl. Mine is also the 352.
My story is similar to yours as well. It was my grandparents, who bought it pretty new in 65. My dad drove it for awhile after, then my aunt drove it for a few years in the mid 90's, then it sat forever. I was at my grandmothers farm and she has a pile of cars out there (seriously a pile, I think they have 12, almost all Fords).
Your exterior is in worse shape than mine, but my interior looks like it was hit with napalm.
Dude, pm me. I would love to talk parts with you. I am in Canada, but maybe we can help each other find pieces. I have always loved this style of Galaxie, and I hope to start mine again when I have money.

|RazorbackMustang||Awesome project! My first car was a '65 Galaxie 2-Dr hardtop w/352. I.had it for 14 years. I truly loved that car. I sold it a couple years ago to a guy in NY because I just wasn't driving it anymore and it deserved to go to someone who could appreciate it. Keep us updated on the progress!|

If you saw Men In Black III, they use cars just like mine when they travel to the past, I went nuts when I saw it. Same color, same interior, only difference was that the one in the movie was a 2-door hardtop.

|antoniomontana0||Yeah I know guys, it's super simple to work on everything... Right now I'm looking for some trim parts (emblems), do you guys know where could I get them?|

|NBFocus||One of the best things about those cars is how nice and easy they are to work on. Today, you have to be an electrical genius to figure them out.|

|sleepyboy||Wow the interior is in great shape for something that old! That strait six should last forever, and super simple to work on.|
