amc49 Get that center nut the correct tightness or you'll be doing it again in a week.

Kal-EL428 Boy did my symptoms get WAY worse before they got better! It felt like my rear wheel was going to come off today.
It took a bit longer than 20 mins, but I am really thinking it was the bearing causing all my torubles...

20 minutes???
So, this is something I can do in my driveway? Any specialty tools needed?

CotyM That is the sound of awesome whooshing of our romulan space fighters warp drive soaring through the void of space!

lol, but no really, I personally get allot of this sound when I'm running across concrete (road noise). But if your getting this on asphalt I'd also bet the rear wheel bearing.

Rear end noise help

This past week (may have been longer, but I always have my radio on) I noticed a noise which sounds like is coming from the rear of my 02 SVT. The noise is speed sensitive, only happening while I am moving. I can best describe it as a steady “Whooooosh” sound or somewhat of grinding whoosh. Diffidently not a howl, screech or whistle IMO. The noise has been to some extent constantly happening since I first noticed it, but on occasion, getting much more noticeable when I make a turn. To top it off, Friday afternoon the ABS and Traction Control lights came on.
Other than the sound and the CEL, the car drives and feels fine to me.

Any ideas?
