Travons03 why did tom even bring up karl? when someone made a post saying it might be an idea to give him a call...

and as far as sport car vs. round round. having built and maintained cars for both the roundy round engines in my shop rev 8000 rpm plus without dry sump every Saturday night!! and sometimes three to 4 times a week for 20 plus laps. so saying IT NEEDS DRY SUMP is wrong. ZERO failures on RODS, PISTONS, CRANKS??? (isn't the protégé crank forged) JK from the old escort days when everyone said that...

but hell lets all just have fun and BS about some rally racing this isn't a pissing contest. arguing about engine builders or tuners is like arguing about how big your #$%K is, everyone that does isn't racing enough. I went through 10 builders before I found one I like.... welcome to racing is what I learned.

PS how do I get some of those cool rally tires u guys are running??????

sailor Why dredge up an old argument without all the facts?

You're being happy with Karl & his support is fine, what you don't seem to realize is that Maniax has a similar or maybe even better relationship with Tom, who's spent a lot of time at their shop helping with building & tuning.

Everyone running the same equipment is called Spec. Racing, a different animal than what either of you are doing. This effort is a different type of racing altogether than what you do. IDK if Tom has any roundy round racers as customers, I do know he has Winners in Rally & Sports Car Track racing.

This is a Focus forum not a Miata Forum and he doesnt use this for world challenge

Yes call massive , then that will be out of the way and you will be back here asking questions , I have first hand knowledge of karls / massives engines so dont get me started

if your that serious about a race car after 1000 laps (stock car) or 25 hours an engine should be gone through at 7500 plus RPM usage. some guys have budgets and even at those times I haven't had a failure (yet) but that's my choice I guess we don't like failures!!!! #racingisntonethingsitstheonlything
even with a dry sump

I have first hand knowledge with a multitude of engines supplied by MSS. and no offense each one is great. every part that comes out of that shop is tested by Karl or one of his HAND selected staffers. to USE ABUSE and ATTEMPT to destroy LONG before they get shipped. with support that is 2nd to none in this industry!!! I think the win percentage that my team has had, backs up my opinion. 77% WIN rate at any track we have been to. in case your unaware that's 77 wins per 100 events. I cant speak for others but I am satisfied with my investment and the Massive Speed System Staff!!!! there knowledge and experience is next level. Sooooo next level Karl has even came to the track to assist us in getting our car right.

sailor Tick, tick, tick...

You know it will work without that now, but would always wonder for how long.

MainiaxMotorsports Oh - and before any flames start - that is 1 coat. I plan on doing 4 coats, then a 1000/1500/2000 / polish for a mirror finish. I am very aware of the orange peel and a lil elbow grease (and buffer) will make mince meat out of it :)

MainiaxMotorsports And to celebrate the new Focus RS coming to America !!!!!! I thought I would try to match one of the color choices they have. I myself ordered a black one which i plan on running flat black...almost cant wait - but for the race car decided to go a little bit LOUDER

What do ya think ? Oh, yeah, ask me how much the paint cost - and prepare to have your mind blown

MainiaxMotorsports So, the motor is out and found out the TICKING / CLICKING sound under the timing cover was .... wait for it.... oil pump chain damper/tensioner bolt had pulled all the way out - ground itself down - omg - talk about a TIME BOMB waiting to go off. Thank god we found it and $30 fixes it.
