jmcrides03 i was talking to the old boss about it yesterday and was gonna try and sell it back to him and instead he inspired me to keep it and finish it. funny how those things go sometimes

jmcrides03 so heres what i do have so far. i have the manifold and know what im doing with that just need to get the right flanges for whichever turbo i use. the ones i ordered on ebay seemed to be of excellent quality but they sent me a gt15 flange. i have 2 turbos to choose from a .42/.48 t3 with no shaft play and a gt2560s non ball bearing gt28 that needs a new compressor wheel($48 ebay) and a rebuild because it has more shaft play than im comfortable with and of course balancing ($68 gpopshop plus shiping). i have a turbo xs type s BOV 39# injectors i may replace with 42# or larger. walbro 190lph fuel pump. i have some random intercooler piping laying around. it has a 3 inch exhaust from the flex back dumping in front of driver rear tire (may get trubendz dual exhaust kit). i have a fuze boost gauge i have a bosch wideband sensor but i need a controller still. gonna get some cheap intercooler wish i still had my evo 8 fmic. ive still got alot to go to finish it feed/ drain lines coolant lines mafia xcal etc. but i think im gonna finish it ive got too much time/ money/love in this thing to give up now. and the money from the yota will help fund completion of the tour

jmcrides03 so the plan from here is to get a rear bumper ( they dont sell aftermarket ones since its a hard cover unlike the focus. and i went and broke the studs off 14 of them at pull a part one day) get it painted and inspected. then from there ill have to sell my daily toyota paseo. no room for 2 cars and my work van at home. during the winter i will work on the contour on the weekends when i dont have school and work. i dont have to really worry about it being off the road for a while i have the work van for work and school and the occasional part store trip on my way home

jmcrides03 been a while since ive updated. i ended up going back to school for hvac starting in july and started a new job in august with an hvac company so i havent had much time to diddle with the contour. my old boss has been cool and let me store the contour at the shop for a while. ive been on the fence about what to do with it. i was almost decided to part it out since its still salvage title because i never had it in for inspection yet. i dont think i can bring myself to do it being so close to being driveable and having a good portion of the parts needed to go through with the build.

jmcrides03 i geuss im gonna go ahead and make it work with the focus header and an adapter. ive got an adapter atarted and the turbo clocked to sit right and it should sit just right and i will still be able to retain my internal gate to save a few bucks and get oil flow. i cut the triangle flange off another focus manifold and im gonna get my turbine flanges machined at a shop here locally

thanks for the advice mother ill look into it more if i get a chance tomorrow. as of now not a huge worry its manual and i dont drive it anywhere but a parking lot for teh most part so ive ignored it. atleast it has a real good pedal on the clutch. my biggest fear was the release leaking and having to pull the trans

Mother Focus Check master and booster also vacuum hose from IM to booster, if after test one of them fails replace both. If you end up needing lines get braided.

jmcrides03 just a small update. workin out all the litle bugs from being in a 10 year hibernation. think i got my vacuum leaks taken care of it alot more responsive now. next will be to figure out why i cant get a good bleed on my brakes even though its not leaking. thnking imgonna order some new rubber lines and see if that helps

jmcrides03 made an official goal for myself to have it on the road and spooling for the ohio spring into focus meet spring 2014. gives me almost a year to get everything together and sorted out. i think today i may see about putting my boost gauge in the car and just use it to watch vacuum for now

jmcrides03 well kinda blows that its gonna be adding extra cost to the build but ive come to the conclusion im gonna have to use the SPA manifold and an external wastegate. with getting the turbo clocked to the way i need it theres no way ill be able to use stock gate

jmcrides03 since i havent had a lot to post a little background on the car. an older couple who were returning customers at our shop bought it lightly used with low miles around 99. after driving the car for a few years during which they maintained it excellent, the car was rearended and totaled in 2003 . the car was too nice and the damage was too little so my boss purchased the car and it sat at the shop. from there the car sat until a little over a year ago when i bought it. i awoke it from its coma and have been going through all the bugs here and there since. cars nearing completion now and runs and drives great. the car will be going for its inspection soon and i wont be getting too crazy over the summer just mainly parts buying. this winter its on. by spring time next year it WILL be on the street and boosting
