Paladin true. too many variables.

turbosvtfocus04 .065" is the common restricter
As far as spool time, every motor is different. Tuning has a big roll in it as well. To many variables to tried to figure out spool time on a turbo.

Paladin i hope not. i'm still kind of a novice when it comes to this math and this is my first attempt at a turbocharged car. but i am willing to learn as much as i can. unfortunately i learn best by doing, not looking or reading, so this is gonna be fun. i know you need a restrictor for a journal bearing turbo. but what size should i run with and are there many sizes?

turbosvtfocus04 I don't think it's going to take as long to spool the turbo up as you think.

Paladin well ive already jumped on a turbo that was a really good price. its a borg warner s252 wit ha billet compressor wheel and extended tips it has a t3 flanged exhaust housing that currently has an internal waste gate (going to remove when that arrives as i dont need) has a ported shroud on the compressor side as well. what can i say other than sometimes you can find good things on beay. if you be patient and look hard enough.

i have the numbers for both sides if anyone is interested.
Compressor side
53mm inducer
79mm exducer =40 trim if my math is right
Turbine side
73mm inducer
58mm exducer =64 trim? not quite sure on the exhaust side.

either way its the turbo i'm using and we'll find out soon if it can make power or if she sits there and just takes forever to spool.

turbosvtfocus04 If you go with the 5431E precision, you won't be disappointed. It's a great turbo for the price. That turbo has had a lot of success.

Paladin mmkay. i still have teh one from the kit but its in pieces (seals bad and took it apart. i ahve all of the parts though. would it be feasable to rebuild it at home and have it balanced? (does it need to be balanced after a rebuild?) ifi can find a model number for it that should tell me which turbo i have (i ahve noticed updated shafts and things like that) also how hard would it be to swap out my turbine housing for a 4 bolt. since i want to re do the downpipe, not really that important. but it has what looks to be an egt bung post turbo, as well as a larger bung (o2 sensor?) so i'd need to do some weld work to it.

EDIT
http://www.ebay.com/itm/AiResearch-T...f52db2&vxp=mtr
would this one do teh trick? or would she be too slow to spool in teh svtf to ahve any sort of fun?
