|svenster||I would fight it too. Ive taken mine in for a rattle in the front end and the transmission and both times they some how can not duplicate the issue but never charged me.|

My car only has 12000 km and I got it feb 2012.
I will try and fight the charge I just feel they did this because I was a girl who didn't look like I knew better.

I don't know if it's company policy, but they don't usually charge under 3yrs/36k miles, after that they usually do...

Hi, I am not sure if anyone is still following this thread BUT I've finally gone to the dealership to let them know my parking sensor goes off when there's nothing too close in front or back, and it goes off when perhaps a large truck or bus is on my sides but again nowhere close.
I went to the dealership, and they said they could not find a problem. THEN they charged me for labor performed "because Ford can't pay us anything that we cannot find to be a warranty repair".
I am sooo upset over this, to the point that I'm considering just letting the car die off, sell it, and never getting a ford again.
Any tips on this? Left a VM to Ford service person and no response yet.

Since most having the randomness say its at a stop light and not exhausts of other vehicles...
Would an inductive loop in the road potentially affect such sensors?

|focus wht||There are only 4 sensors for the front park aid. The 2 on the sides are for the self parking. and do not add to the beeping. Forget about the warranty because you will never be lucky enough to duplicate this issue on demand or lucky enough to have it beep while as scanner is connected. Just buy your own new sensors and swap them out and be happy. Once again the reprogram of the BCM and Apim has nothing to do with this issue no matter what they tell you but with an update to the vehicle . It is referenced on a TSB. There is no Tsb for the false Beeping.|

I have definitely had mine false alarm sometimes, but not the same problem as dragonpalm.
Mine will go off sometimes while stopped at a light next to a large truck. There must be some resonant frequency in the engine or exhaust system of certain trucks and buses. This alarm stops as soon as the truck moves.
I have also had mine false alarm when a sensor got wet or dirty. A little drop of water covering the gap around the center of the sensor is all it takes sometimes. This usually happens after leaving a carwash, and will go away very quickly when I start to drive.
My falses are also usually not the fast beeping or continuous beep, I usually get the slow beep as if I am farther away from something.
