lewisra Easiest way is to run a vehicle health report and then go to Sync My Ride and it will tell you if you have and upgrade available.
In your car it's in the MFT help menu. It doesn't say 3.5.1 or whatever. Says something to the effect of 11.30.12458 can't remember for sure. Also, if you search the forum it's on here numerous times on how to find this.

sportage Dumb question, but how does one check the version installed, and what is the latest version/date of MFT?

MFT is freaking quirky with 3.5.1. I was having issues where the BT radio in the car would fail to initialize sometimes. When I would search for BT devices with my phone, the MFT BT would not even be there. Kept doing master resets etc. Finally, one day, for no apparent reason, it stopped misbehaving and I had no issues for a month or more.

Every once in a great while MFT has some kind of a boot up error and some of my settings will disappear, then it will not happen again for a long time.

When it works, it's great, but it can be temperamental.
I'm having the same issue. Delayed root fixes it every time.

The odd thing with these MFT issues is that some people have issues while others do not and they're running the same software, that tells me it's either a hardware thing or the software is being corrupted. Sadly, I had few if any issues with the two previous versions but this one has a couple bugs that the others didn't.

I don't stream music from my phone though I've tried it and generally use the USB as the audio is encoded at high bit-rate and is superior to the crap from Pandora etc. I have indexing turned off as I had in the previous versions but I get frequent problems with the audio starting up at engine start even though I'd pressed to audio power button to shut it off before I last shut the car down. It also tends to start playing from the beginning of the song list even though I never play music that way -- I always play it by artist or by album.

Thanks for the feedback ... the fact that I had three different download sizes had me concerned. The last one, after doing a full format of the thumb-drive, completed without error so I suspected it was OK but just wanted to make sure...

Again, thanks...

MFT 3.5.1 questions

I never really had many problems with MFT until the dealer updated me, in January, to 3.5.1 and since then I've had blutooth issues with the same phone (SGNexus) that worked fine on the two previous versions and also issues with the USB music. So, I plan to do another update myself over the next week or so. My plan is to download the update, do a factory data reset, perform the update then do another factory data reset before pairing my phone and plugging in my 32GB thumb-drive with 16GB of music.

But, something weird is going on with the update ... the first attempt had an error right at the end and when I checked the total space consumed by the update was just under 1.4GB. I then made a new folder on the drive and copied the update to it then did another download. This second download only took a few minutes, which dosn't make any sense since the first update took about 2 hours, and when done it was about 1.15GB. I then formatted the thumb-drive and did another download and this time the total space used was 1.27GB, this time with no errors...

WTF is going on here?

OK, can someone else with MFT with NAV on a 2012 Titanium tell me how big there update was for 3.5.1? To be exact, my update is 1,367,343,104 bytes and in the SyncMyRide folder there are 27 zip files (see pic below)

Does this look the same as yours?

Thanks,

Brian
