dyn085 The Focus has the ability, but only fleet vehicles have it automatically enabled. If you wantthe DRL's enabled, they can enable them with the IDS. They may charge, you just have to ask the service mechanics.

sportage To answer my own question, yes it has the backup camera. Just picked mine up from the dealer and first thing I looked for on the hatchback was the cam sticking out above the plates. And there is was. It will be useful to me.
The car is fairly over-whelming, technology wise.
My dealership actually assigns your own personal tech guy for the car.
You finish with the finance guy, shake hands with final thank you's from the sales guy, and last before you get in your new focus, a visit-instructional meeting with the tech guy.
He reminded me of the tech kids at the Apple store.
So he explains things super speed bing bing bing so that one takes in maybe 20% of all the info. All I needed to know right then was how to successfully drive the car home. My dad could NEVER figure out this car. Thank goodness the wheels still work the same, gas and brake peddle, and the steering wheel. I'll figure out how to turn it off next week, if I get time.

PS. To change the subject a bit...
Does this car have what is known as "running lights"? Front head lights that come on day or night, automatically, when ever the motor is running?
My first focus had running lights. My Pontiac G6 had them. No option to disable. I hated them at first, but as time went by I realized it made a huge difference stopping people from pulling out in front of me from a side street. It was like the headlights made the car more visible. That person anxious to put out did a double take and waited, before pulling out.
And with headlights on, it is harder to judge an oncoming cars true speed. The deer in the headlights effect.
So I was not yet sure, but hoping this new focus has running lights or the option to enable that feature.

When I was at the dealer, they had a hatchback with a camera parked on a slope. I got in the car and had my 5 year old stand behing the car and looked out the rear window and I could not see her. I put the car in reverse (foot held firmly on the brake of course) and there she was smiling at me on the screen. SOLD!

I paid the extra cost for auto-parking (which while cool, is unecessary) so I can get the camera. By the way, my driveway is sloped.

FordService Hi everyone,

I took a peek at the 2013 Order Guide; the rear view camera is listed as standard equipment for the Titanium sedan and hatchback.

I think this has something to do with our Foci being different than the ones in the rest of the world. A long time ago I saw a youtube video made by ford showing people parallel parking in France as a game then it showed how the auto parking worked WITH a manual transmission but as far as I know here in America you can't get both.

I noticed Sticceno is from Canada so maybe the foci are build differently every where else in the world or the Ford marketing team thought americans won't need that stuff with a manual or need it or something.

How do you think reverse lights work then? It's easy enough to sense when it is in reverse on a manual.
