My hs foreign language requirement was Latin, so I prefer the hard sound. Webster's Dictionary gives its nod to both pronunciations:

i've been trying to figure it out the last month or so, i think the hard c sounds weird lol. but I also couldn't find a better alternative, til this.

I think you meant soft c? Hard C makes the K sound.

Pronouncing it with a hard C sounds absurd IMO. Not only does it sound weird, but it's not proper English. It's like pronouncing "Focus" as "foh-sus".

I think I'll stick with fokai since that's how everyone says it. Just seems like it would sound snooty to say fosci and then have to explain it to everyone lol
